The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) has announced the sixth edition of SL MICE Expo, scheduled to take place in Colombo from October 5–9, 2026. The event will bring together more than 120 international hosted buyers and media representatives from 27 countries.
The Expo is being organised as part of the SLCB Marketing Plan 2026 and aims to strengthen Sri Lanka’s position as a destination for international meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).
Since its launch in 2021, SL MICE Expo has grown from a virtual initiative into an international platform connecting Sri Lanka’s MICE industry with buyers, media and industry stakeholders from around the world. The event provides opportunities for local MICE businesses to showcase their offerings and develop international partnerships.
Sri Lanka offers a combination of business infrastructure, cultural heritage, natural attractions and leisure experiences within a compact geographical area. The destination includes beaches, ancient cities, wildlife sanctuaries, vibrant urban centres and the hill country’s tea plantations. These experiences can also be incorporated into MICE programmes and pre- and post-event tours.
Hon. (Prof.) Ruwan Ranasinghe, M.P., Deputy Minister of Tourism, said, “The Government recognizes the MICE sector as a key driver of tourism growth and welcomed SL MICE Expo 2026 as an important platform to showcase Sri Lanka’s MICE potential to international buyers and media.”
Dheera Hettiarachchi, Chairman, SLCB said, “More than 120 hosted buyers and media representatives from 27 countries will participate in SL MICE Expo 2026, creating valuable opportunities for Sri Lankan MICE industry partners to build international business connections and partnerships.”
The 2026 edition will feature a business forum focused on current MICE industry trends and opportunities, along with an inaugural plenary session featuring keynote speakers.
A key part of the programme will be a series of B2B meetings connecting international hosted buyers with Sri Lankan MICE suppliers. These meetings will provide opportunities to generate business leads, explore partnerships and develop future opportunities.
The Expo will also include networking events, destination experiences and familiarisation programmes, giving international buyers and media representatives an opportunity to experience Sri Lanka’s tourism, cultural and MICE offerings firsthand.
Through the event, SLCB aims to strengthen relationships with key international markets while giving Sri Lankan MICE suppliers direct access to international decision-makers and media.
The Expo is also expected to support the growth of international business events, incentive travel and conferences in Sri Lanka, contributing to tourism businesses and local communities across the country.
With international participation from 27 countries and engagement from Sri Lanka’s local MICE sector, SL MICE Expo 2026 will provide a platform for business connections, industry networking and showcasing the destination to the global MICE community.
