Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Brings Devotees’ Wishes Closer to Mumbai Cha Raja Through ‘Mushak Aala Re’

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank has launched ‘Mushak Aala Re’, an initiative aimed at bringing Bappa closer to communities during Ganesh Chaturthi, particularly for senior citizens and individuals with limited mobility who may find it challenging to visit crowded pandals.

Inspired by the cherished belief that Lord Ganesha’s Mushak carries devotees’ heartfelt wishes to Bappa, the initiative features a larger-than-life Mushak mounted on a mobile canter van that will travel across Mumbai and Pune over six days. The mobile activation will visit old-age homes, senior citizen communities, housing societies and other community spaces.

At each stop, devotees will have the opportunity to whisper their wishes into the ears of the Mushak, keeping alive the tradition of sharing one’s heartfelt wishes with Bappa through his beloved messenger.

The initiative will also offer participants an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) Ganesh Darshan of Mumbai Cha Raja. The experience is designed to recreate the grandeur and atmosphere of the pandal through an immersive digital format, enabling those who may not be able to make the journey to experience the darshan.

The experience will culminate with blessings in the form of Prasad from Mumbai Cha Raja, bringing together faith, tradition and technology in a festive experience for participants.

Through ‘Mushak Aala Re’, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank aims to make Ganesh Chaturthi more accessible and inclusive, seeking to ensure that age or mobility does not become a barrier to experiencing the spirit and joy of the festival.

Commenting on the occasion, Lakshman Velayutham, CMO, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, said, “Festivals have a unique way of bringing people together, and Ganesh Chaturthi is deeply rooted in that spirit of togetherness. With ‘Mushak Aala Re’, we wanted to take a simple but meaningful step towards ensuring that age or mobility does not become a barrier to being part of the celebrations. By bringing Bappa’s Mushak closer to communities, we hope to create a moment of joy, connection and inclusion for those who may not be able to visit a pandal themselves.”

Rather than positioning itself as a fulfiller of devotees’ wishes, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank has positioned the initiative as an effort to help remove a physical barrier for people who may otherwise miss out on the festive experience.

The ‘Mushak Aala Re’ initiative also seeks to demonstrate how a digital campaign can translate into a real-world community experience, using technology and tradition to make cultural celebrations more accessible while extending the experience beyond the communities directly reached by the activation.
