Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) is looking to deepen its engagement with the Indian market by expanding its focus beyond tier I cities, while strengthening its offerings across luxury, Gen Z travel, weddings, MICE and golf.
Bader Ali Habib, Regional Head, Proximity Markets, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, said Dubai will focus on tier III and IV cities in India as part of its strategy to build deeper relationships with travellers and expand its reach across the market.
According to Habib, tier I markets already have strong familiarity with Dubai, while the destination is now looking to achieve deeper penetration into smaller Indian cities.
The strategy will also focus on strengthening Dubai’s appeal across several travel segments, including luxury, Gen Z, weddings, MICE and golf. Habib highlighted the growing range of hotels and attractions in Dubai, giving travellers more options across different categories and budgets.
He also pointed to more affordable hotel pricing and value additions as ways for the travel trade to help offset higher airfares and offer greater value to Indian travellers.
Alongside its traditional tourism offerings, Dubai is also expanding its focus on wellness, transportation, events and infrastructure, adding new dimensions to the destination’s proposition for Indian visitors.
With stronger outreach to smaller cities and a wider range of travel experiences, Dubai is looking to build on its established relationship with the Indian market and create greater engagement across emerging traveller segments.
