Sri Lanka is showcasing its MICE tourism potential at BLTM 2026, positioning the island nation as a destination for Indian business events, incentive travel and corporate groups.
The three-day B2B travel trade show is being held from September 2 to 4 at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, New Delhi, bringing together destinations, travel companies, hotels, convention bureaux and MICE specialists from India and international markets.
Sri Lanka is participating as the Partner Country at this year’s edition, with the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau using the platform to engage with Indian travel trade and MICE buyers. Dheera Hettiarachchi, Chairman, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, also attended the inauguration as Guest of Honour.
The participation comes as demand for business events, incentive travel, corporate meetings and destination experiences continues to expand in India. BLTM 2026 brings together more than 500 exhibitors, 300-plus hosted buyers and more than 12,000 pre-scheduled business meetings, creating a platform for destinations to develop new trade relationships and business opportunities.
For Sri Lanka, the Indian market remains an important opportunity for its MICE tourism segment, with the destination looking to strengthen connections with meeting planners, corporate travel buyers, event companies and incentive travel specialists.
Beyond destination promotion, BLTM 2026 is focusing on how technology, human connection and experience-led formats are reshaping business events. Sessions across the show are examining the future of MICE, destination competitiveness, AI-led event operations and the need to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Sri Lanka’s presence at the show therefore forms part of a broader effort to deepen its engagement with India’s travel and MICE ecosystem, while positioning the destination as an option for businesses seeking international venues and experiences within the region.
