Registrations are now open for the inaugural MET City International Half Marathon, scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Reliance MET City, Haryana.
The event will offer runners a combination of open green surroundings and wide, smooth roads within a planned township. Located within easy driving distance of Delhi and Gurugram, the venue is designed to provide a flat and straight course, making it an attractive option for runners aiming to achieve a Personal Best (PB).
The event will feature a cash prize pool of nearly Rs. 9 lakh, including Rs. 1,00,000 each for the fastest male and female finishers in the half marathon category.
Alongside the 21.1K signature race, the event will also include a 10K Timed Run and a 5K Fun Run/Walk, making the event accessible to experienced runners, first-time participants and families.
The race route will run through the approximately 8,250-acre planned township of Reliance MET City. Unlike races held on regular city roads, the course has been designed around wide, purpose-built road corridors.
The route offers several features aimed at runners looking for a comfortable and uninterrupted race experience. It is surrounded by greenery, with trees along the centre and sides of the roads. The course is flat and straight, with no climbs, descents or flyovers.
The entire route will also be closed to traffic during the event, with organisers managing crossings along the course. The route features gentle curves instead of sharp turns, allowing runners to maintain their rhythm.
With road corridors extending up to 60 metres wide and multi-lane roads throughout, participants will have ample space to run without crowding or excessive weaving. The course also features smooth, well-laid tar roads designed to provide a comfortable running surface.
Speaking about the event, Shrivallabh Goyal, CEO and Whole-Time Director, Reliance MET City said, “We are incredibly proud to host this inaugural sporting event at Reliance MET City. Our city was meticulously planned to ensure people can live, work, and commute seamlessly. On 25 October, we are handing these very roads over to the running community. With a course that is flat, exceptionally wide, flanked by greenery on all sides, and completely closed to traffic for the morning, absolutely nothing will force athletes to break their stride. Whether a participant is chasing a personal best or crossing their very first finish line, we want them to experience the smooth, comfortable run that world-class urban planning provides.”
With its combination of a traffic-free route, wide roads, green surroundings and flat terrain, the first MET City International Half Marathon aims to create a race environment suited to both competitive runners chasing fast times and participants looking for an enjoyable fitness experience.
