Lollapalooza India will return to Mumbai’s iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse for its fifth edition on January 23 and 24, 2027, bringing together globally acclaimed artists, homegrown talent and the festival’s growing community.
Ticket sales will begin with an exclusive pre-sale for RuPay Credit Card Holders at 11 am on August 30 through BookMyShow. The Early Bird On-Sale will open at 11 am on September 2 on the same platform.
The lineup for the 2027 edition has not yet been announced. The announcement comes after the festival’s 2026 edition, which featured Linkin Park among its performers. Across previous editions, Lollapalooza India has hosted artists including Imagine Dragons, The Strokes, Sting, OneRepublic, Jonas Brothers, Green Day, Shawn Mendes, Louis Tomlinson, Playboi Carti and YUNGBLUD. It has also continued to spotlight Indian artists such as DIVINE, Hanumankind, Prateek Kuhad, Bloodywood, Nucleya and Talwiinder.
The 2026 edition drew the largest crowds in the festival’s history. Linkin Park’s performance, which marked the band’s first appearance at Lollapalooza India, recorded the largest audience for a single performance since the festival’s debut in 2023.
Lollapalooza India 2027 will also bring back RuPay Amplified Access for RuPay Credit Card Holders. The two-day ticket includes the amenities of General Access, Lolla Comfort by RuPay and Lolla VIP, along with additional benefits. These include a select food experience at designated festival stalls, a merchandise voucher redeemable against a curated selection of official Lolla merchandise, and a complimentary cocktail/mocktail voucher at designated festival bars during a specified time window.
Growing appetite for music concerts
Beyond its performance stages, Lollapalooza India has developed into a showcase for contemporary culture, featuring the Lolla Food Park, large-scale art installations, immersive brand collaborations and fan-led communities.
The festival attracts thousands of visitors from across India and beyond to Mumbai each year, turning Mahalaxmi Racecourse into a gathering point for music, culture, food and fandom. Over two days, the festival brings together subcultures, fan clubs and creative communities around music discovery, connection and shared experiences.
The festival also reflects the growing appetite for live music concerts in India, particularly following the Covid-19 pandemic. According to a Live Nation survey conducted among attendees of Lollapalooza India 2026, nearly two in three attendees travelled from outside Mumbai to attend the festival, highlighting the rise of concert tourism in India and the festival’s growing status as a destination.
The survey found that 97 per cent of attendees intended to return for future editions, while close to 60 per cent cited music discovery and the festival atmosphere among their primary reasons for attending. Merchandise sales also recorded strong double-digit year-on-year growth.
The 2027 edition will feature four stages and more than 20 hours of live performances, continuing the festival’s combination of international artists, emerging talent and immersive experiences.
Five years after its launch, Lollapalooza India has established itself as a major cultural gathering in Mumbai, with audiences returning each year for music discovery and the festival experience.
The festival will also continue its #LollaForChange initiative, with a focus on sustainability, accessibility and inclusivity. Measures include sign language interpreters, PWD viewing platforms, wheelchair-friendly infrastructure, gender-neutral washrooms, free hydration stations, trained counsellors and dedicated help desks.
Family-friendly initiatives include the Tag Your Kid programme and protective earplugs for children. The festival’s sustainability efforts include diverting tonnes of single-use plastic from landfills, donating surplus food to local communities and promoting green mobility through initiatives such as #TakeTheTrain and Cityflo shuttle partnerships.
