Wedknott Acquires Aurezia Events, Enters India’s Wedding Services Market

Elite matchmaking platform Wedknott has announced the acquisition of Aurezia Events, a premium wedding planning and design company, marking its entry into India’s rapidly growing wedding services market.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Wedknott has acquired a majority equity stake in Aurezia Events, while the company will continue to operate under its existing brand name and expand into the broader weddings and events space. Aurezia Events founder Peres will continue with the company as Co-Founder and Director.

From Matchmaking to Wedding Services

The acquisition comes as Wedknott looks to expand its relationship with couples beyond matchmaking. According to the company, nearly 45 per cent of couples matched through its platform had also sought assistance with wedding planning, highlighting an opportunity to create a more integrated offering.

“Finding the right partner was never the end of our responsibility. It was the beginning of a bigger journey. Nearly half our couples were already asking us to stay on. Aurezia lets us serve them with the same care that defined the match,” said Abhinav Gandhi, Founder and CEO of Wedknott.

With Aurezia Events, Wedknott will be able to extend its engagement with couples from finding a life partner to planning one of the most significant milestones in their lives.

Tapping India’s Wedding Economy

India hosts nearly 10 million weddings annually, with the wedding economy estimated at around US$130 billion (Rs 11 lakh crore), according to industry estimates.

Despite its scale, the market remains highly fragmented, with individual weddings often involving dozens of vendors across venues, décor, photography, hospitality and other services. The quality and accountability of these vendors can vary significantly, creating an opportunity for more integrated and organised wedding solutions.

The combined Wedknott-Aurezia offering aims to address this gap by bringing matchmaking and wedding services under a broader ecosystem.

“Joining Wedknott means we become part of each couple’s story much earlier, and our work will be more personal for it,” said Peres, Founder of Aurezia Events.

Expansion Across Key Wedding Markets

The integrated offering will roll out from the current wedding season across metros, Tier 1 cities and major destination wedding locations.

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Noida, Wedknott currently serves more than 2,000 families across 75 cities and four continents. The company had also raised strategic investment in January 2026 from Pratik Gauri, a serial entrepreneur, investor and speaker known for championing the concept of a purpose-driven 5th Industrial Revolution.

Gauri’s work has been recognised by platforms including the World Economic Forum, Forbes and TED.

The acquisition of Aurezia Events marks a significant expansion of Wedknott’s business model, as the company looks to build a wider wedding ecosystem that combines its matchmaking expertise with professional wedding planning and design services.
