The story of Fhotofocus did not begin inside a studio. It began hundreds of feet above the streets of South Mumbai.
Before there was Fhotofocus, there was architecture. Founder Abhishek Jain spent his days designing structures and imagining spaces that people would one day call their own. Then, on an ordinary afternoon at a construction site, he looked beyond the blueprints and captured the city through his camera. It was just one frame, yet it revealed a different calling. In that fleeting moment, he realised he no longer wanted to build places. He wanted to preserve lives unfolding within them.
Choosing that path came with uncertainty. Walking away from a secure profession meant leaving behind everything that was expected. Yet every dream has someone who quietly believes before the world does. For Abhishek, that was his family. Their unwavering faith became the courage behind every decision that followed.
What began with a maternity shoot for family slowly turned into stories entrusted by strangers who soon became family themselves. One wedding became ten. Ten became hundreds. Today, more than five hundred weddings later, Fhotofocus has travelled across India and around the world, documenting celebrations in London, Dubai, Turkey, Thailand, and some of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes, from the mountains of Ladakh to the lakes of Kashmir, the backwaters of Kerala, the beaches of Goa, and the timeless beauty of Agra.
Yet destinations have never been Fhotofocus’ destination.
People are.
The work of Fhotofocus has always been rooted in documentary storytelling. The team does not believe love should be choreographed. Instead, it believes it should be witnessed. Every wedding carries its own rhythm, its own silences, its own beautiful imperfections. The laughter that escapes between rituals. A mother’s tear she hopes no one notices.
