Teamwork Arts has announced the revival of Going Solo, India’s international festival dedicated exclusively to solo theatre. Presented by Reena Wadhwa and produced by Teamwork Arts, the festival returns after a long hiatus and aims to bring acclaimed international solo theatre productions to Indian audiences.
As the first step towards Going Solo 2027, an international jury will attend the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2026 to identify some of the most compelling solo theatre productions. Up to three productions will be selected and invited to tour India in 2027, with performances proposed across New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Going Solo was first produced by Teamwork Arts in 2013 and was India’s pioneering international festival dedicated exclusively to solo theatre. The festival introduced Indian audiences to internationally acclaimed solo productions and provided a platform for artistic excellence and cross-cultural exchange.
The Going Solo 2026 jury comprises Reena Wadhwa, Nelson Fernandez, Laura Mackenzie Stuart and Jo Laidlaw. The jury will evaluate productions at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe based on originality, artistic excellence and the impact of solo performance.
The festival focuses on the unique ability of a single performer to command the stage and create immersive experiences for audiences. Its revival aims to further strengthen connections between Indian audiences and the global performing arts community.
