Kedar Ravangave Steps Down as Head of Marketing at Kotak Mahindra Bank

Kedar Ravangave has stepped down as Head of Marketing at Kotak Mahindra Bank, concluding a nearly two-year stint with the private-sector lender.

Ravangave joined the bank in July 2024 after spending close to a decade at Amazon India. At Kotak Mahindra Bank, he led marketing for the Consumer and Commercial Banking businesses, focusing on brand strategy, customer engagement and business growth.

One of the key initiatives during his tenure was the launch of Kotak Mahindra Bank’s new brand philosophy, “Hausla Hai Toh Ho Jayega,” introduced in 2025. The campaign aimed to strengthen the brand’s connection with the aspirations of a changing India through a digital-first, 360-degree marketing approach.

He also played an important role in enhancing the bank’s data-driven marketing capabilities by shifting media planning towards an outcome-led model and integrating data, artificial intelligence and automation into marketing operations. During his tenure, Kotak also explored the development of a marketing operating system to enable greater personalisation, improve decision-making and better align marketing investments with business outcomes.

Before joining Kotak Mahindra Bank, Ravangave spent over nine years at Amazon India, where he held several senior marketing roles. He worked across businesses including Amazon India, Prime, Amazon Pay, Amazon Fashion and Amazon Fresh, contributing to the growth of these brands. He was also closely associated with the launch and expansion of Amazon Prime in India and played a key role in developing the Great Indian Festival, which has become one of the company’s flagship annual sales events.

Ravangave began his marketing career at Marico, where he worked on brands including Parachute Coconut Oil and Parachute Advanced Jasmine, before moving to Amazon. Earlier in his career, he also worked with Wipro Technologies.

His next move has not yet been announced, though he is understood to be evaluating multiple leadership opportunities.
