Max URB_N Kicks Off Third Edition of UN-MUTE in Kochi with Statewide Rap Talent Hunt and Onam Live Tour

Max Fashion has announced the third edition of Max URB_N UN-MUTE, returning to Kerala this Onam with a larger format that combines a statewide rap talent hunt and a live concert headlined by ThirumaLi and Lil Payyan.

Now in its third consecutive year in Kerala, Max URB_N UN-MUTE follows two previous editions featuring Dabzee and Baby Jean, which together attracted more than 20,000 fans. According to the company, this year’s edition is set to be its biggest yet.

Headlining the event will be ThirumaLi and Lil Payyan, two prominent names in Kerala’s rap scene, who will perform on the Max URB_N UN-MUTE stage for the first time.

A key addition to this year’s event is the launch of the first-ever statewide Max URB_N UN-MUTE Rap Hunt, designed to discover emerging rap talent from across Kerala.

In partnership with Spotify, Max URB_N is inviting aspiring rappers from across the state to participate in what it describes as one of Kerala’s biggest rap talent hunts. Artists performing in Malayalam, English, or a combination of both languages are eligible to enter.

The competition will see hundreds of participants compete for a place among the final 16 contestants. These finalists will perform for an opportunity to secure a spot on the Max URB_N UN-MUTE stage alongside ThirumaLi and Lil Payyan before a live audience.

According to Max Fashion, the initiative is intended to provide a platform for emerging artists by placing them alongside established performers. Through its collaboration with Spotify, the company aims to support India’s independent hip-hop movement while expanding the reach of the Max URB_N UN-MUTE platform.

The grand finale will take place in Kochi on August 7, featuring nearly three hours of live rap performances, stage acts, and interactive fan experiences. The previous edition attracted more than 3,000 attendees, and organizers expect a larger audience this year.

Tickets for the August 7 concert are now available through BookMyShow. Registrations for the Max URB_N UN-MUTE Rap Hunt are being accepted through the official event website. Entries for the competition opened on July 7.

Commenting on the announcement, Sumit Chandna, CEO, Max Fashion, said: “Max URB_N UN-MUTE has become so much more than a concert; it’s a platform where culture, creativity and community collide, giving young artists a real shot at being seen and heard. Every year this movement gets bigger from Dabzee to Baby Jean, and now our biggest edition yet with ThirumaLi and Lil Payyan. With Spotify, we’re thrilled to throw the stage open to the next wave of rap talent and continue building one of India’s most exciting youth culture platforms.”

With preparations underway for the August 7 finale in Kochi, the third edition of Max URB_N UN-MUTE will combine live performances with a statewide search for emerging rap talent, providing aspiring artists an opportunity to perform alongside established names in Kerala’s hip-hop scene.
