Bacardi has appointed Mahesh Kanchan as Managing Director for India and Southeast Asia, effective October 1, 2026, marking a key leadership transition for the spirits company across one of its fastest-growing markets.
Kanchan will succeed Vinay Golikeri, who has been elevated to the role of Regional President for Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) and Global Travel Retail (GTR). Golikeri takes on the expanded position after leading Bacardi’s India and Southeast Asia business for more than three years and spending over two decades with the company.
Kanchan currently serves as Marketing Director for India and neighbouring countries, a position he assumed in 2024 after joining Bacardi from Del Monte Foods India, where he was Chief Executive Officer. During a career spanning more than two decades, he has held senior leadership roles at Carlsberg India, Hershey India and Unilever, leading marketing, sales and growth strategies across South Asia.
Commenting on the leadership transition, Golikeri said Kanchan’s deep understanding of the business, consumers and the region positions him well to lead the next phase of growth. He also described India as a strategic market for Bacardi and expressed confidence in the leadership team driving the business forward.
As Managing Director for India and Southeast Asia, Kanchan will oversee Bacardi’s operations across the two markets. His responsibilities will include accelerating business growth, strengthening the company’s premium spirits portfolio and expanding Bacardi’s presence across the region.
