Banyan Tree Events has announced the 25th edition of Barkha Ritu, India’s longest-running monsoon music festival, marking a significant milestone in its journey of celebrating Indian classical music.
The Silver Jubilee edition will travel across Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai, bringing together renowned maestros, acclaimed performers, and emerging artists for a series of concerts inspired by the spirit of the monsoon.
Over the past 25 years, Barkha Ritu has established itself as a unique cultural platform celebrating the connection between nature and Indian classical music. The festival showcases both Hindustani and Carnatic traditions through monsoon-inspired ragas such as Malhar, Megh, Miyan Ki Malhar, Desh, Amritavarshini, and Varunapriya, offering audiences an immersive musical experience.
Known for presenting celebrated artists, rare collaborations, and memorable performances, the festival continues its mission of preserving India’s rich musical heritage while making classical music accessible to newer generations.
Artist line-ups, venue details, and ticketing information for all five cities will be announced in the coming weeks.
