Jaya Kishori presented her first-ever Divine Concert on Sunday evening at the Dome, NSCI, Mumbai. Produced by Saregama Live and Epitome Live, the event brought devotional music to a live concert format through a production featuring live musicians, visual elements and stage design while remaining centred on bhajans.
Conceived by Jaya Kishori, Divine Concert was envisioned as a space where families could come together, take a break from their everyday routines and reconnect through devotional music. The format presented bhajans in a live concert setting while retaining their spiritual essence.
The audience included families, children, young professionals and senior citizens, reflecting a cross-generational turnout. The event also welcomed elderly residents from Khushiyan Foundation, many of whom attended a live devotional music concert for the first time.
Several personalities attended the event, including Meet Bros, Salim Merchant, Manoj Muntashir, Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja and Sachet-Parampara.
Speaking about the idea behind Divine Concert, Jaya Kishori said, “I wanted to create a space where families could come together, leave behind the stress of everyday life and connect through music. One of my biggest hopes was to encourage younger audiences to experience spirituality in a way they could relate to. By presenting bhajans with the scale and energy of a live concert, I wanted to show that our traditions, music and roots can be just as uplifting, joyful and inspiring in a modern setting.”
Speaking about the initiative, Siddharth Anand Kumar, Executive Vice President – Films, Series & Events, Saregama, said, “Live entertainment is constantly evolving, but at its heart it has always been about bringing people together. The concert concluded with a series of bhajans, after which many attendees remained at the venue before dispersing.
