Percept Brings Navayuga Engineering’s Missing Link Launch and Guinness World Record Recognition to Life

Percept successfully delivered a large-scale experiential event for Navayuga Engineering Company to mark the launch of the Mumbai–Pune Expressway Missing Link Project and celebrate its recognition by Guinness World Records for creating the World’s Widest Underground Tunnel.

Held at Kusgaon, Maharashtra on Maharashtra Day, the event commemorated the inauguration of the 13.3-kilometre Missing Link corridor, a major infrastructure project designed to improve connectivity between Mumbai and Pune, reduce travel time, and enhance road safety.

The occasion was attended by over 500 guests, including government officials, industry leaders, and global representatives. The event was graced by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde, and Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Sunetra Pawar. The Guinness World Records certificate was formally presented by Sonia Ushirogochi from Guinness World Records.

Percept ICE, the experiential marketing, event management, exhibitions and brand activations arm of Percept Limited, conceptualised and executed the event. The team created an immersive experience that showcased the scale, complexity, and significance of the Missing Link Project through storytelling installations, visual displays, and a specially curated audio-visual presentation.

Guests were taken through the journey of the project, highlighting key engineering achievements, including the excavation of over 85 lakh tonnes of rock, the use of 7,600 tonnes of steel reinforcement, more than 1.1 lakh cubic metres of shotcrete, and 2.2 lakh cubic metres of Pavement Quality Concrete. The project was completed with an estimated 9 million manhours of work.

A high-definition audio-visual presentation further brought the story to life through real footage from the construction process, showcasing the engineering challenges, advanced safety systems, and the workforce behind the landmark achievement.

The event concluded with the formal presentation of the Guinness World Records recognition, celebrating the creation of the world’s widest underground tunnel measuring 22.33 metres.

Percept Profile, the strategic communications and public relations arm of Percept Limited, managed the integrated communications mandate for the event, overseeing media relations, press coordination, stakeholder engagement, and post-event publicity.
