Bombay Times has launched Headliners, a new annual platform dedicated to recognising the individuals behind India’s biggest headlines. The inaugural edition was held on June 17, 2026, at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, bringing together leading names from entertainment, music, fashion, business, sports, digital content, and the creative industries.
The event celebrated personalities whose work has shaped conversations, inspired audiences, and made a lasting impact across culture and society.
A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the specially designed Headliners trophy, inspired by the iconic Bombay Times newspaper. Designed as a rolled newspaper scroll, the trophy symbolises stories, achievements, and influence that become headlines, honouring visionaries and changemakers across industries.
The inaugural edition was attended by personalities including Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Bhumi Pednekar, Maniesh Paul, Salim Merchant, Benny Dayal, Sophie Choudry, Ashnoor Kaur, and several other distinguished guests.
Among those honoured at the event were Kajol, Shabana Azmi, Ayushmann Khurrana, Manish Malhotra, Shankar Mahadevan, Suniel Shetty, Jaideep Ahlawat, Bhumi Pednekar, Malaika Arora, and Vedang Raina for their contributions across cinema, fashion, music, entrepreneurship, and social impact.
The evening also featured memorable moments including Javed Akhtar inaugurating the ceremony with the ceremonial lamp lighting, Shankar Mahadevan performing a few lines from Lakshya, and an on-stage interaction between Udit Narayan and Taha Shah.
