As part of the event, TVS Motor Company unveiled a white paper titled “Nature Capital as a Strategic Business Imperative in India: Linking Ecosystem Services, Enterprise Value, and Risk Management in a Nature-Positive Transition”, developed jointly with PwC and TERI School of Advanced Studies. The paper explores the importance of ecosystem services such as water, biodiversity, soil health and climate regulation in supporting long-term business resilience and value creation.

Speaking at the event, Thakur Pherwani, Chief Sustainability Officer, TVS Motor Company, said, “Nature is central to economic resilience, community well-being and the future of mobility. At TVS Motor Company, sustainability is embedded into how we think about products, operations, supply chains and partnerships. The release of our inaugural Task Force on Nature Related Disclosure (TNFD) -aligned report is an important step in assessing our nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities with greater discipline. Through the white paper and today’s workshop, we hope to support a more informed conversation on how Indian businesses can protect natural capital while enabling long-term growth and value creation.”

Ratnesh Jha, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network India said, “The conversation around sustainability is rapidly evolving from compliance to competitiveness. Through initiatives such as this workshop, we are witnessing businesses recognise that biodiversity, ecosystem health and climate resilience are directly linked to long-term enterprise value. As UN Global Compact Network India completes 25 years of advancing responsible business practices, collaborations like these reaffirm the importance of collective action in shaping India’s sustainable future.”

TVS Motor Company also launched its inaugural TNFD-aligned report, “Mobility in Harmony with Nature: TVS Motor Company’s Inaugural TNFD Report”. With this release, the company becomes one of the first organizations in the Indian automotive sector to publish a report aligned with the recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).

The report outlines the company’s efforts to identify, assess and manage nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks and opportunities while integrating sustainability considerations into business decision-making. It also highlights the growing relevance of nature-related disclosures as businesses navigate challenges such as water stress, biodiversity loss, land degradation and supply chain disruptions.

TVS Motor Company continues to strengthen its sustainability commitments, with three manufacturing facilities in India achieving Zero Waste to Landfill and Net Water Positive status. The company has also expanded its renewable energy adoption, sustainable product development and circular economy initiatives, while supporting responsible vehicle recycling through its Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF).

Through its latest initiatives, TVS Motor Company reinforces its commitment to integrating environmental stewardship, business resilience and sustainable mobility as key pillars of its long-term growth strategy.
