Indian singer-songwriter and composer Jasleen Royal recently fulfilled a childhood dream as she shared the cricket field with members of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, showcasing her impressive bowling skills during a special interactive session.
The exclusive event was organized after a viral social media video highlighted Royal’s leg-spin bowling abilities, catching the attention of the BCCI and JioStar. The organizations subsequently invited her to participate in a unique experience alongside Indian cricket stars Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues.
The session began with an engaging conversation between Royal and the two cricketers, where they discussed the dedication, discipline, and pressures associated with excelling in their respective fields. The interaction highlighted the similarities between professional sport and the entertainment industry.
Taking to the pitch, Jasleen Royal demonstrated her cricketing talent by bowling a full over to both Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues. Her leg-spin technique, control, and variations impressed the international cricketers, drawing admiration from the team.
The event concluded with Royal returning to her musical roots as she performed a live set for the Indian squad. She treated the players to renditions of her popular hit Heeriye and her latest release Inaam, creating a memorable and celebratory atmosphere.
A long-time supporter of women’s cricket, Royal has often used her platform to celebrate the achievements of the Indian Women’s Team. In recognition of her continued support, the squad presented her with an official team-signed jersey ahead of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Adding to the special occasion, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and star batter Jemimah Rodrigues invited Royal to travel with the team to the United Kingdom and support them during their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign in England.
