Event planning and production company Prasang Events recently completed the execution of The 18 Day Wedding, an 18-day wedding celebration that brought together themed event concepts, cultural experiences, live entertainment, and celebrity performances across multiple functions.
The wedding was structured as a series of distinct events, with each day designed around a separate theme, visual identity, and guest experience. Across the 18 days, the celebration featured more than 40 celebrity appearances and performances, alongside custom-built event environments, cultural showcases, live entertainment, and family-focused experiences.
The celebration opened with Satkar E Pariwar, a pre-wedding dinner inspired by contemporary fashion and design influences. The event incorporated pastel colour palettes, crystal chandeliers, live music, and décor elements intended to create an intimate setting for the coming together of the two families.
On Day 3, Ghar Ke Log – A Candlelit Baithak focused on close family and friends. Inspired by traditional candlelit gatherings, the event featured live music, conversation spaces, and a setting illuminated by thousands of candles.
Day 4, Yaadon Ki Mehfil, was designed around family history and memories, incorporating family portraits, personal stories, and live music as part of the experience.
One of the larger production-led events was the Barsana Haldi on Day 7. Drawing inspiration from the town of Barsana and its association with Holi traditions, the celebration incorporated floral installations, cultural performances, music, and interactive guest experiences. The event featured appearances by Nushrratt Bharuccha, Rhea Chakraborty, and Soundarya Sharma, along with performances choreographed by Sumit Vinod.
Day 8’s Kalyanam Vedika – Mandap Mahurat was inspired by South Indian temple architecture and traditions. The event featured a temple-inspired mandap, brass detailing, floral rangolis, traditional carvings, Kathakali artists, and live Cochin drummers, reflecting elements associated with South Indian cultural heritage.
The wedding’s Mehendi celebration transformed an open lawn into an Egypt-inspired venue influenced by Middle Eastern architecture and design. The space included a custom-built colosseum-inspired amphitheatre, traditional souk-style installations, dining spaces, entertainment zones, and performances by Vaani Kapoor and Amyra Dastur. More than 100 dancers participated in the evening’s productions.
Day 10’s RangTarang – Sangeet was designed around music and live entertainment. The event featured a 120-foot curved stage, large-scale lighting design, and a performance by singer Tanishq Bagchi. Stebin Ben also performed during the celebrations as part of the entertainment programme.
The event series also included Sanskriti Ramzat, a celebration inspired by India’s regional cultures. Drawing references from North, South, East, and West India, the event incorporated folk influences, regional artistic styles, music, dance performances, and a Garba segment. Celebrity appearances included Mouni Roy, Raashii Khanna, and Shama Sikander.
A notable chapter of the wedding was Retro Night on Day 14. Inspired by classic Bollywood cinema and award-show formats, the event featured retro-themed lounges, ticket counters, foyer experiences, and a stage modelled on an awards ceremony. More than 100 AI-generated movie posters were created for the event, reimagining family members as protagonists in Bollywood film posters. The evening also included performances by Jacqueline Fernandez, Sophie Choudry, and Tanishk Bagchi. Guests participated in the theme through period-inspired attire, while food experiences drew inspiration from the streets of Kolkata.
Throughout the 18-day celebration, Prasang Events collaborated with multiple creative and production partners, including design studios, décor specialists, entertainers, choreographers, caterers, and technical production teams. Various functions featured contributions from Purple Weddings Design, Atelier Morf, YPD Weddings Worldwide, Shree Ganesh Mandap, Aakash Caterers, Collective Artists, Events Yug, Jaipur Film Company, and Usually Unusual Entertainment.
According to Prasang Events, the objective of the wedding was to create a sequence of events in which each celebration carried its own narrative, design language, entertainment programme, and guest experience while remaining connected to the overall wedding journey.
The 18-day celebration demonstrates the growing demand within India’s luxury wedding segment for extended-format celebrations that combine personalised storytelling, cultural references, live entertainment, and large-scale event production.
The event was designed by Purple Weddings Design for Prasang Events, with décor and production delivered by Prasang Events in collaboration with Shree Ganesh Mandap. Catering was provided by Aakash Caterers, artist management was handled by Collective Artists, special acts and entertainment were curated by Events Yug, choreography was led by Sumit Vinod, stage management was overseen by Usually Unusual Entertainment, and the event was documented by Jaipur Film Company.
