Independent label Femme Music is expanding its artist development efforts into the live music space with the launch of Femme Power, a new showcase series dedicated to emerging and established female artists. The initiative marks the label’s latest step in building a broader ecosystem that extends beyond recorded music into live experiences and touring opportunities.
The first edition of Femme Power is set to take place on June 7 at The Humming Tree, featuring performances by label co-founder and producer Sanoli Chowdhury, Mumbai-based multidisciplinary artist Ro Maiti and singer-songwriter Sahana Naresh.
Founded by Chowdhury alongside UK-based music industry professional Vinod Gadher, Femme Music has spent the past few months expanding its portfolio through artist signings, releases and the introduction of sub-labels including Nyima Records, Tala Root Records and 34 Beat Records. The label has also released projects such as Nyima Vol. 1 and Bangalore Dreams, while onboarding artists including Ro Maiti and Tabitha Kagoo.
With Femme Power, the label is now moving further into the live business, positioning the showcase as a recurring platform for its roster and other women artists across genres.
Chowdhury said, “Femme Power is the live expression of everything Femme Music stands for, a space where female artists lead, own their sound, and are presented with the polish and seriousness their work deserves.”
Gadher said, “This is the first of many Femme Power shows across India, and then Europe. The brand will come to symbolise the female talent our label is nurturing and developing, artists we believe in building careers around, both here and globally.”
The launch comes at a time when independent labels are increasingly diversifying beyond recorded music, with live events, touring and community-led properties becoming an integral part of long-term artist development strategies.
