Australian Tourism Exchange 2026 is set to open this week at the Adelaide Convention Centre, bringing together global travel buyers, tourism organisations, and industry leaders for Australia’s largest tourism tradeshow.
The 46th edition of the event will welcome more than 2,700 attendees, including 730 buyers and travel agents from 32 countries. They will engage with 1,400 Australian industry representatives from 674 tourism organisations, showcasing Australia’s travel experiences through business meetings, events, and familiarisation programs.
Over the next four days, more than 55,000 business appointments are scheduled to take place, with additional meetings expected alongside the main event. These interactions are aimed at strengthening international partnerships and driving long-term growth for Australia’s tourism sector.
Robin Mack said tourism plays a key role in shaping Australia’s global image and strengthening international connections.
“This year will see 74 new products offered, and 131 new buyer organisations attending for the first time highlighting strong demand in the sector and in Australia in particular. We acknowledge the impact of global shocks on the sector at this time, which makes the role of Tourism Australia more important than ever – to shape international demand, lift sustainable yield and support dispersal, directing tourism revenues into Australia and across its regions.”
The event comes at a crucial time for the tourism industry, with Tourism Australia and its partners focusing on promoting the country’s unique travel experiences to international markets.
Australia’s tourism industry continues to play a major role in the national economy, supporting more than 700,000 jobs and sustaining around 300,000 businesses across the country, while also driving visitor traffic to regional communities.
ATE26 is being delivered in partnership with the South Australia Tourism Commission, with the event expected to contribute an estimated AUD 13.6 million to the local economy. Adelaide last hosted the Australian Tourism Exchange in 2018, while the next host state for the event will be announced on the final day of ATE26.
