Sunburn Festival 2026 Moves To Mahalaxmi Racecourse With A New Two-Day Format

Sunburn Festival has officially announced its 19th edition, bringing a major shift in its journey with a new venue and a refreshed festival format. Scheduled to take place on December 18 and 19, 2026, the festival will now be hosted at the iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai.

Over the years, Sunburn Festival has evolved into one of India’s biggest live music experiences, attracting audiences from across the country. The move to Mahalaxmi Racecourse is expected to offer better accessibility, larger scale production, and an enhanced overall experience for festivalgoers. The venue has previously hosted landmark performances by global artists including Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Martin Garrix, and Keinemusik.

This year, the festival will also introduce a more concentrated two-day format aimed at delivering a sharper and more immersive experience. In addition, the celebrations will conclude with a grand closing party at the NSCI Dome on December 20.

Speaking on the announcement, Karan Singh, CEO, Sunburn, said, “Sunburn Festival has always been built with the audience at its core, evolving each year into a defining cultural tradition for India’s music community to create experiences that are not just larger, but more meaningful and immersive. The move to Mumbai has played a significant role in this evolution, allowing us to reach new audiences while strengthening our core community, representing everything that has been building over the years – a moment where the festival’s identity, energy and vision come together in a way that is ready to stand alongside the world’s most iconic music festivals. As we enter our 19th edition, every decision – from moving to a venue like Mahalaxmi Racecourse to reimagining the festival format – has been made with a clear focus on enhancing how fans experience the festival. Our ambition is to continue setting benchmarks for live entertainment in India while aligning with global standards, where scale, storytelling and community come together in a more powerful way than ever before.”

The 2026 edition will also introduce its new theme, “Awaken the Core,” reflecting the festival’s evolution towards a deeper and more immersive live entertainment experience. With anticipation already building, Sunburn Festival 2026 promises a powerful line-up, large-scale production, and one of its most defining editions yet.
