Amey Velankar has joined Ixigo as Senior Vice President – Marketing, following a stint of over seven years at Uber.
Velankar announced the move in a LinkedIn post, writing, “After nearly half a decade as the Head of Marketing at Uber India, I’m super excited to join Ixigo this week as Group Senior Vice President – Marketing. Uber was a masterclass in building bold, culture-defining marketing at scale. It taught me that the best brands don’t just communicate – they move people.”
At Uber, Velankar most recently served as Head of Marketing for India and South Asia, and previously held roles including head of brand and product marketing, and head of product marketing.
He also noted, “I’m carrying each one of these lessons into this new role.”
Commenting on his new role, Amey said, “Ixigo is rewriting the story of travel in India with its customer obsession – making it more accessible, more intuitive, and more exciting for the next billion users.”
Before Uber, Velankar worked at SC Johnson as category head, and spent over seven years at Marico Limited in multiple roles, including group product head and brand manager. He began his career at RPG Enterprises, where he managed retail operations.
