Butterfly (Tamasu Co., Ltd.) Signs Landmark 5-Year Title Sponsorship with Ultimate Table Tennis

Butterfly, the globally respected Japanese table tennis brand owned by Tamasu Co., Ltd., has signed a landmark five-year title sponsorship agreement with Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT), India’s premier professional table tennis league. Beginning with Season 7 in Goa in 2026, the league will be officially rebranded as Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis.

As part of the agreement, Butterfly will serve as the title sponsor from Season 7 in 2026 through Season 11 in 2030. The brand will also supply equipment to support broader initiatives across the UTT ecosystem, aligning with efforts to drive greater participation and enhance the visibility of table tennis across India.

The partnership goes beyond league sponsorship. Butterfly will work alongside UTT to strengthen grassroots development through initiatives such as the Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis Challenger Cup, local leagues, and academy programs. These efforts are designed to ensure year-round engagement with the sport and create a seamless pathway for talent development from the grassroots to the professional level.

Vita Dani, Co-Promoter, Ultimate Table Tennis, said, “Bringing a global leader like Butterfly on board as our title sponsor is a defining moment for table tennis in India, and the trust placed in UTT by a globally respected Japanese brand is a clear indicator that India is emerging as a force in the world of table tennis. From day one, our ambition has been to build something that lasts — not just a league, but a strong and enduring ecosystem for the sport — and this partnership is a powerful step in that direction.”

Vita further added, “Together, we have the opportunity to shape the future of Indian table tennis — by giving our athletes access to world-class infrastructure and equipment, making one of the sport’s most respected brands more accessible, and creating a sustainable pathway that nurtures talent for generations to come.”

Speaking on the occasion, Takako Osawa, CEO, Tamasu Co., Ltd. (Butterfly), said, “We are deeply honored to take this new step as the title sponsor alongside UTT, which continues to lead the development of table tennis in India, and to support its journey over the long term. We are committed not only to providing equipment, but also to creating new connections through table tennis and supporting everyone involved in the sport. Through this partnership, we hope to bring the appeal of table tennis to a broader audience and contribute to even greater value and expansion in the table tennis community in India.”

Over the years, UTT has played a pivotal role in elevating table tennis in India. The league supports nine academies and over 400 young athletes nationwide, has partnered with the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) as title sponsor for National Championships and Ranking Tournaments, and launched the Table Tennis Super League (TTSL) to boost state-level competition.

With Butterfly’s long-term commitment, UTT is set to further expand its ecosystem and strengthen the growth of table tennis across the country.
