Ahmedabad witnessed one of the most defining evenings of the tour as over 10,000 attendees gathered at the Adani Shantigram Cricket Ground for a powerful performance that blended innovation, legacy, and recognition. Produced by Team Innovation and District by Zomato, the 10-city Sitar for Mental Health India Tour has been delivering sold-out shows and widespread acclaim across the country.
The event saw the presence of noted personalities including Tamannaah Bhatia, Jay Shah, Sanjana Ganesan, Nina Kothari, and Meena Ambani in attendance.
In a historic moment, Rishab Rikhiram Sharma was honoured with a handcrafted diamond portrait by Vipool Jepiwala, created using 11,000 diamonds over a month—placing him alongside iconic figures such as Zakir Hussain and Narendra Modi to have received such a tribute.
Adding emotional depth to the evening, the sitarist and neo-classical musician, dressed in a custom-made ensemble by Mayur Girrotra, paid homage to his mentor, late Ravi Shankar, while performing Tilak Kamod ahead of his birth anniversary on April 7—an act that resonated deeply with the audience.
Musically, the performance spanned classical ragas, original compositions, and contemporary interpretations. The SITARA – The Next Generation Electric Sitar, created by his father Sanjay Sharma, elevated the experience with LED-synchronized visuals that added a contemporary layer to the classical performance.
The concert opened with a meditative guided breathing session and transitioned into an exploration of ragas including Bihaag, Kedar, and Shyam Kalyan. Staying true to his fusion style, Rishab wove together original compositions such as Shankara, Shiv Kailash, Burning Ghat, and Roslyn with sitar interpretations of globally loved themes from Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, alongside Bollywood favourites like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Zara Zara, and Tumhi Dekho Naa. His Himachali folk track Belua added regional texture to the evening.
The grand finale featured Chanakya, Kautilya, Venkateswara, and Tandavam, culminating in a powerful rendition of the Shiv Tandav Stotram that brought the audience to its feet in a standing ovation.
Following successful, sold-out shows across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Chennai, Ahmedabad emerged as a landmark stop in this cultural movement.
