Absolut Creative Commune returns for its fourth edition with a renewed focus on process-led creativity and contemporary Indian visual expression. Curated for the second consecutive year by multidisciplinary artist and producer Spryk (Tejas Nair), this year’s theme, ‘Born Colourless’, celebrates artistic depth, diversity, and experimentation in visual culture.
At a time when generative AI enables instant visual creation, the platform shifts attention back to slow art—a deliberate, thoughtful approach grounded in craft, intent, and lived experience. This edition brings together six emerging and established Indian visual artists: Era Namjoshi, Akshita Sinha, Amalendu Kaushik, Damini Gupta, Surabhi Banerjee, and Abhijit Vinayak.
Tejas Nair, Creative Commune Curator, Spryk said, “Curating the Absolut Creative Commune for the second consecutive year has been an honour and a journey of discovery. In today’s hyper-paced world, ‘slow art’ is an act of quiet rebellion—it asks us to pause and appreciate the craft, research, and soul poured into every piece. This edition, Born Colourless, is a vibrant reflection of India’s visual and cultural diversity, proving that a canvas free of prescribed ‘colour’ can hold the most infinite spectrum of experience.”
Pulkith Modi, Senior Director — Marketing, International Brands, Pernod Ricard India said, “Absolut has always championed creative expression and artists shaping culture. With Absolut Creative Commune, we’re deepening that commitment, creating a platform that supports contemporary Indian visual artists while keeping craft, conversation, and cultural nuance at the center of everything we do.”
This edition highlights diversity across regions and disciplines. The artists interpret ‘Born Colourless’ through mediums ranging from clay animation and hand-drawn illustrations to immersive 3D environments and mixed-media explorations.
A key focus this year is the artistic process itself. Moving beyond final outputs, the campaign showcases deep-dive conversations, behind-the-scenes documentation, and studio-style glimpses into sketches, drafts, and iterations. By foregrounding experimentation and refinement, the initiative invites audiences to engage with the often-unseen journey behind each artwork.
The theme positions India as a living, evolving canvas where cultures, identities, languages, and aesthetics intersect. Through hyperlocal references, regional motifs, diasporic narratives, and speculative futures, the artists explore how a “colourless” starting point can hold an expansive spectrum of stories—reflecting a plural India that is both fragmented and unified, traditional and contemporary.
Since its inception, Absolut Creative Commune has featured over 20 contemporary Indian visual artists and explored themes such as Indo-Futurism and the legacy of Andy Warhol. With each edition, the platform continues to encourage process-driven artistic practice while fostering meaningful conversations around culture and creativity.
