Music Nova Signs Publishing Deal with Universal Music Publishing India

Music Nova, a leading record label from the house of Media Nova specializing in regional and spiritual music, has announced a strategic publishing partnership with Universal Music Publishing India, the Indian arm of the global publisher Universal Music Publishing Group.

Under this agreement, UMPI will administer Music Nova’s publishing catalogue worldwide, managing licensing, royalty collection, and synchronization opportunities across film, television, OTT platforms, and advertising. The collaboration brings together UMPI’s global publishing expertise and Music Nova’s diverse and growing catalogue, enabling stronger monetization of rights across international markets.

The partnership reflects a broader industry trend of bringing regionally rooted and spiritual music into the global publishing ecosystem at scale. It also highlights the growing cultural and commercial relevance of such content, particularly at a time when OTT platforms, short-form video, and streaming services are expanding global demand for culturally diverse music. Regional and devotional music is seeing renewed interest, driven by diaspora audiences and its increasing use in mainstream media.

Music Nova’s catalogue spans regional, spiritual, devotional, and fusion genres across eight languages, featuring both emerging and established artists. This positions the label well for licensing opportunities across films, advertisements, OTT platforms, and international creative projects.
