In a world where spirituality and devotion are often viewed as tradition-bound and slow to evolve, one man has dared to rethink it entirely. Giresh Vasudev Kulkarni, Founder of Temple Connect and the visionary behind the International Temples Convention & Expo (ITCX), is transforming how temples operate, engage, and grow in the modern era. With over three decades of experience across Media, Brand Communications, Hospitality, Business Facilitation, and Live Events, Kulkarni has emerged as a pioneering voice in India’s rapidly expanding temple management ecosystem.
Temple Connect — Digitising Devotion, Respecting Heritage
Out of Kulkarni’s conviction emerged Temple Connect an initiative born of reverence for spirituality and conviction in innovation. The idea was simple yet bold: draw temples out of obscurity and into a structured, accessible, digitally savvy era. Temple Connect aims to be more than a directory; it seeks to be a bridge between the devotees of the traditional past and the pilgrims of the digital present.
Through Temple Connect, Kulkarni has worked towards:
● Digitally archiving temple information, history, rituals, architecture, and pilgrimage guidance.
● Making temple visits, rituals, and pilgrim journeys more transparent and accessible.
● Leveraging his media and event-management expertise to craft narratives and experiences that draw both devotees and younger generations, blending emotion, heritage, and modern presentation.

International Temples Convention & Expo (ITCX) — Building a Global Temple Network
Temple Connect’s ambition didn’t stop at digitisation. Kulkarni also envisioned a global forum where temple leaders, administrators, scholars, and devotees come together. That vision materialised as ITCX — the world’s first convention dedicated to temple management, sustainability, infrastructure, pilgrim experience, and cultural exchange.
ITCX isn’t just a gathering of stakeholders; it’s a movement. It facilitates cross-cultural dialogue, shares global best practices, explores the role of technology in temple operations, and imagines a future where temples are globally connected, sacred, safe, sustainable, and spiritually enriching. With this initiative, Kulkarni is essentially redefining what a temple can be: not just a site of worship, but a centre for heritage, management excellence, community welfare, and global cultural exchange. Two editions of ITCX were successfully conducted in 2023 at Varanasi and in 2025 at Tirupati.

Beyond Temple Connect and ITCX:
Giresh Kulkarni’s work extends beyond temple documentation and management into experience-led spiritual engagement, reflected in his strategic partnership with Radhika Das’ India Tour 2025 and his active association with curated temple journeys, including an immersive partnership with Trips to Temples to enrich pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar and other sacred circuits. As the Founder of Temple Connect, he has also been instrumental in launching India’s first temple management courses with Welingkar Institute, Mumbai University and Pune University, building a new generation of trained professionals for the temple ecosystem. He was invited to the ICWF- International Congress for Wedding Futures (ICWF) 2025, where he used the platform to encourage the fraternity to embrace temple towns as soulful and culturally rooted wedding destinations.
“My pitch at ICWF 2025 was simple: Make temple towns epicentres for sustainable and spiritual wedding experiences. Not just me, but statistics also show that Millennials and Gen Z couples are increasingly drawn to temples for their weddings, seeking something inherently meaningful. While European castles sell history, Indian temples embody both history and spirituality,” he said. His message struck a powerful chord with the industry, particularly as it aligns seamlessly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for “Wed in India”.
His impact was recognised in London, where he was honoured with the prestigious Global Thought Leader Award for pioneering transformation in temple systems, further cementing his position as a visionary shaping the future of spiritual infrastructure and cultural stewardship.

Why Giresh Kulkarni’s Story Matters — Beyond One Man’s Journey
Giresh Kulkarni represents more than a personal odyssey: he embodies a philosophy that spiritual heritage deserves the same respect, planning, and excellence as any other modern institution. He reminds us that temples are living entities, dynamic, evolving, and capable of adapting to contemporary realities.
Through Temple Connect, Smart Temples Mission, educational initiatives, and global gatherings via ITCX, he is not just preserving temples; he is reimagining them for future generations. And in doing so, he is crafting a legacy where faith, culture, technology, and community come together. As he continues his journey, one thing becomes clear: this is not just his mission, it’s ours too.

In Kulkarni’s own words: temples are more than sacred spaces; they can be hubs of community, history, education, and sustainable culture.
