Global sportswear brand Nike is set to bring its global After Dark Tour back to Mumbai in 2026, inviting women runners to participate in a unique night-time racing experience that blends sport, culture, and community.
Part of a seven-city global race series, the After Dark Tour aims to encourage more women to take up running while celebrating the collective energy of female athletes. The Mumbai edition will feature a 10K night race, giving participants the chance to challenge their personal limits while connecting with a vibrant community of runners.
The 2026 tour will take place across major cities including London, Los Angeles, Manila, Mexico City, Mumbai, Shanghai and Sydney. Race distances will vary by location, ranging from 10-kilometre runs to half marathons.
Designed exclusively for women, the After Dark Tour goes beyond a traditional race format to create a fully immersive running experience. Each event will feature curated pre-race activities, energetic moments along the race route, and post-race celebrations that combine sport, music, and community interaction.
The initiative builds on Nike’s long-standing commitment to supporting women in sport. Between 2005 and 2015, the brand hosted several women-focused races across global cities, creating platforms that encouraged participation and community among female runners.
Nike revived this legacy in 2025 with the relaunch of the After Dark Tour, which attracted more than 50,000 participants across seven races on five continents. In India alone, nearly 3,500 women took part, with around one-third participating in their first organised race.
According to the brand, many runners were drawn to the event because of its women-centric environment that promotes empowerment, self-expression, and collective participation.
Beyond the race itself, the tour also serves as a platform for Nike to showcase its latest innovations in running, training, and sportswear, highlighting performance technologies designed for both elite athletes and everyday runners.
With the return of the After Dark Tour, Nike aims to further strengthen women’s participation in sport while positioning the event as both a global running series and a cultural celebration of movement, confidence, and community.
