A New Knot recently curated an elegant and understated yet grand wedding celebration for table tennis player Mudit Dani and Ananya Diwanji, bringing together heritage, luxury, and thoughtful design across two of Mumbai’s most iconic venues.
While the city’s media spotlight was firmly focused outside the wedding of Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok at the iconic The St. Regis Mumbai, another equally spectacular celebration was quietly unfolding on the same day. True to the understated elegance associated with Mumbai’s old-money Gujarati families, the wedding celebrations were hosted across the grand spaces of the Jio World Convention Centre and the waterfront luxury of Trident Nariman Point.
The groom comes from one of India’s prominent industrial families. His father, Jalaj Dani, is a leading industrialist from the Asian Paints family, while his mother Vita Dani is the first cousin of Mukesh Ambani. Naturally, the wedding drew a distinguished guest list featuring leaders from corporate India, sports, and Bollywood.
The celebrations began with a grand reception attended by nearly 3,000 guests, followed by a series of traditional ceremonies including the Mehendi, the wedding rituals, and a vibrant Sangeet night. The Sangeet turned into one of the highlights of the celebrations, featuring performances by Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, while Nita Ambani also took to the stage, adding to the glamour of the evening.
Despite its scale and star presence, the wedding largely remained away from the paparazzi glare, reflecting the family’s preference for a more private celebration. The event began gaining wider attention only after social media personality Orhan Awatramani (Orry) shared glimpses from the festivities online.
The wedding of Mudit Dani and Ananya Diwanji stands as a reminder that while celebrity weddings often dominate headlines, some of India’s most luxurious celebrations unfold quietly. With seamless planning and refined execution, A New Knot brought together scale, tradition, and intimacy—showcasing the evolving nature of high-net-worth weddings in India.
