The Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) National Convention will return to New Delhi for the first time in more than two decades, with Hero MotoCorp announced as the Title Sponsor for the Golden Jubilee edition of the event.
The four-day convention, scheduled from March 13 to March 16, will be hosted by the Delhi Sports Journalist Association (DSJA). Marking 50 years of SJFI, the milestone edition is expected to be one of the most significant gatherings of sports media professionals in the country.
The association of Hero MotoCorp, one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers, reflects growing corporate support for the country’s premier sports media event.
Sanjay Bhan, Executive Vice President, Global Business & Product Planning, Hero MotoCorp said, “At Hero MotoCorp, promoting sporting excellence across disciplines has been an integral part of our journey and we remain deeply committed to it. In this regard, we are delighted to be the Title Sponsor of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Sports Journalists Federation of India this year. This milestone is an opportunity not only to support athletes but also to celebrate the fraternity that passionately chronicles India’s sporting journey, tells stories about athletes and amplifies sporting achievements, thereby encouraging the ecosystem to grow.”
The Golden Jubilee edition has attracted extensive corporate backing, with 23 organisations partnering with DSJA to support the convention.
The list of partners includes TCM Sports, SONY Sports Network, Punjab Kings, Red Bull, Delhi Capitals, DDCA, Jindal Steel, Rajasthan United Football Club, Archery Association of India, Svayam, RPL, PEFI, SG Sports, WordsWork Communications Consulting, Modern Pythian Games, JK Tyre, DDA, Artsmith Concepts & Vision, Adimazes, Aabhawater, VIDA and ESGF.
In addition to corporate partnerships, the event has received support from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), and the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).
Sabi Hussain, Secretary, DSJA, said, “Hosting the 50-year milestone celebration is a huge honour. The incredible backing that we have received from our brand partners shows how powerful the Indian sports media network has become. We are set to deliver an exceptional event experience and a strong platform to our stakeholders connecting the sports, media and corporate world.”
Renowned former sports journalist and now sports entrepreneur Lokesh Sharma, Managing Director of TCM Sports, said, “It is an honour for TCM Sports to host the SJFI Convention 2026. Journalists have a vital role in documenting the history of sport and bringing the stories of athletes and competitions to millions of fans across the country. Platforms like the SJFI Convention allow journalists to exchange ideas, reflect on the evolving media landscape, and celebrate excellence in sports. We are proud to host this initiative and look forward to welcoming distinguished members of the sports media fraternity on 15th March.”
Over the course of four days, the convention will combine professional discussions with sporting competitions and networking opportunities. The programme will include a Grand Sports Conclave featuring leading sports administrators and Olympic icons, the JK Bose Inter-Zonal T20 Cricket Tournament, and the AC Bali Table Tennis Tournament.
Additional activities planned during the convention include family and youth engagement initiatives such as the Modern Pythian Games and a Red Bull gaming station, along with a prize distribution ceremony attended by distinguished dignitaries. Competitions in basketball, futsal, and golf putting are also scheduled as part of the event programme.
A major highlight of the convention will be the Sports Conclave hosted by TCM Sports. The session is expected to bring together senior sports administrators and key decision-makers, providing sponsors and media professionals an opportunity to engage with stakeholders shaping the business of Indian sports.
As one of the most prominent annual gatherings of sports journalists in India, the convention also offers a platform to reflect on how sports coverage has evolved from traditional print media to modern digital and broadcast platforms, while fostering dialogue within the sports media ecosystem.
