Royal Stag BoomBox Opens Fourth Edition in Kolkata with Multi-Genre Line-up

Seagram’s Royal Stag launched the fourth edition of Royal Stag BoomBox with an opening night in Kolkata on February 21 at the Aquatica Ground.

The event, themed around the brand’s philosophy of ‘Living It Large’, marks the beginning of a four-city tour that blends Bollywood melodies and hip-hop beats with immersive art, culture and gaming experiences. Organisers said this year’s edition expands its entertainment offering by integrating music and gaming into a single, large-scale live platform.

Thousands of fans attended the Kolkata opener, which featured performances by Armaan Malik, Fossils, Dino James, Payal Dhare and DJ Sahil Gulati.

Music and Gaming Take Centre Stage

The Aquatica Ground was transformed into what organisers described as a multisensory playground, with art installations, curated food experiences, interactive zones and gaming segments accompanying the live performances.

The evening opened with a live gaming face-off featuring Payal Dhare and a fan participant, who won a gaming round and earned the opportunity to play alongside her. DJ Sahil Gulati followed with the opening music set, leading into a performance by Dino James.

Fossils then delivered a rock set on home turf, before Armaan Malik closed the night with a finale featuring his popular tracks, reflecting the festival’s cross-genre format.

Artist Reactions

Armaan Malik said, “Royal Stag Boombox has always celebrated music that unites people across genres and generations, and that’s something I genuinely connect with. For me, live shows are about real moments and shared energy. I was looking forward to coming to Kolkata for Season 4. The city has always shown me so much love, and it was absolutely thrilling to sing along with everyone.”

Fossils added, “Royal Stag BoomBox represents the evolving sound of India, where different genres don’t compete, they collaborate. As a band, we’ve always believed in pushing boundaries and connecting deeply with our audience. Performing at Royal Stag BoomBox in Kolkata, our home turf, made it even more special and an unforgettable experience.”

Dino James said, “Performing at Royal Stag BoomBox Season 4 in Kolkata was an incredible experience. The city’s energy, passion and love for live music truly stood out. What makes Royal Stag BoomBox special is how it brings different sounds and cultures together on one powerful stage and being part of that in Kolkata felt electric.”

DJ Sahil Gulati said, “Royal Stag BoomBox is where sound met spectacle. As a DJ, creating that build-up and watching thousands move to the same rhythm in Kolkata was an unmatched feeling. Season 4 promised next-level production and energy, and I was thrilled to set the tone for an unforgettable night.”

Payal Dhare said, “Royal Stag BoomBox breaking the barrier between music and gaming is such a powerful move. Being part of Season 4 and bringing a live gaming face-off to the stage is incredibly exciting.”

Multi-City Tour Continues

Royal Stag BoomBox is positioned as a platform combining sound, lighting, fan zones and cultural showcases, bringing together Bollywood and hip-hop influences under what organisers call the “Original Sound of Generation Large.”

Following the Kolkata launch, the tour will head to Vizag on 7 March, Mumbai on 21 March and Mohali on 28 March.
