Shangri-La Bengaluru has appointed Rakesh Ramachandran as Director of Events, effective February 22, 2026. In his new role, Ramachandran will lead the hotel’s events and conventions portfolio, with a focus on strengthening operations, enhancing guest experiences, and driving growth across the segment.
Ramachandran brings over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with extensive expertise spanning events, catering, group business, and food and beverage operations. He began his career in food and beverage service, developing a strong operational foundation that has informed his leadership approach in large-scale event management.
Over the course of his career, he has held senior positions with several leading hospitality brands, including The Leela Palace Bengaluru, Sheraton Bangalore, Conrad Pune, and Shangri-La properties in Bengaluru and Colombo. He was also part of the pre-opening team at Shangri-La Bengaluru, contributing to the establishment of its events and catering operations. In these roles, he has overseen large conventions, high-profile social events, and complex catering functions.
Prior to his return to Shangri-La Bengaluru, Ramachandran served as Director of Sales at Foodlink F&B Holdings, where he was responsible for sales strategy and client relationship management.
With this appointment, Shangri-La Bengaluru aims to further strengthen its position in the events and meetings segment under Ramachandran’s leadership.
