Cinépolis India hosted The Seven Acts at Cinépolis VIP, Lulu Mall Bengaluru, presenting a seven-course premium dining experience served entirely inside the cinema auditorium. The activation, held as part of the ongoing Blockbuster Food Festival, was curated for Valentine’s Day and hosted for select food creators and journalists.
Conceptualised as a narrative-led dining format, The Seven Acts drew inspiration from literary and cinematic storytelling. Each course was presented as a distinct “act” within a larger story arc, progressing from The Opening Act to The Grand Finale. In-audi projections and personalised table settings accompanied each course, positioning dining not as an intermission activity but as the central experience within the auditorium.
The activation reflects a broader shift in how audiences—particularly in premium cinema formats—are approaching the moviegoing experience. Food and beverage currently contributes 30 percent of Cinépolis India’s revenue. Cinépolis VIP, which operates 13 screens across the country, has been designed around these evolving expectations, offering reclining seats, in-seat service and a menu-led experience intended to stand on its own.
Commenting on the initiative, Devang Sampat, Managing Director, Cinépolis India, said, “Our audiences are telling us that a cinema visit is no longer just about the film. It is an outing that competes with restaurants, lounges, and any premium leisure option. This is why we are building what we call Future Ready Cinema. It is our response to evolving consumer expectations and industry trends. Experiences like The Seven Acts show what becomes possible when you design for the complete occasion, not just the screening. The cinema is much more than a place to watch a film.”
The initiative underscores Cinépolis India’s continued focus on reimagining the cinema as a holistic, premium leisure destination where food, comfort and storytelling come together to redefine the moviegoing experience.
