Chinmayi, A.R. Ameen and Others to Join A.R. Rahman at Chennai’s Wonderment Tour

As Valentine’s Day approaches, A. R. Rahman is set to return to Chennai with The Wonderment Tour, a concert that is expected to draw large audiences at the Jawaharlal Nehru Outdoor Stadium on February 14. Marking Rahman’s return to the city after a long gap, the Chennai edition of the tour will also feature an expansive lineup of singers, promising an evening marked by musical diversity and star power.

The concert will bring together some of the most recognisable and versatile voices in contemporary Indian music performing alongside Rahman. Chinmayi Sripada, whose collaborations with the composer have produced some of Tamil cinema’s most enduring songs, is expected to be one of the highlights of the evening. Joining her is A. R. Ameen, who has steadily carved a space for himself as a performer with an international outlook and youthful energy.

The lineup also includes Nisa Shetty and Nitesh Aher, both known for their dynamic stage presence, along with Amrutha Suresh, whose powerful vocals have resonated across film and independent music. Nakul Abhyankar and Adithya RK bring a contemporary edge to the ensemble, while Rakshita Suresh and Srinivasa add depth with their grounding in both classical and modern styles. Adding a distinct flavour to the evening is singer Adhitya RK, whose collaborations with Rahman have bridged film music and global hip-hop influences. The concert is also expected to feature surprise appearances.

Together, this collective of performers will revisit iconic compositions while also reimagining them through new live arrangements. The emphasis on multiple lead vocalists reflects Rahman’s long-standing approach to music-making, where diverse voices play a central role in shaping his sound.

The Chennai leg of The Wonderment Tour is being organised by Noise and Grains in association with Jo Entertainment and Fairgame Entertainment. In a move aimed at encouraging sustainable and hassle-free travel, organisers will provide free Metro Rail passes to all ticket holders to ease access to the venue.

As The Wonderment Tour arrives in Chennai, it promises not just a reunion with A. R. Rahman but a rare opportunity to witness an exceptional ensemble of singers sharing one stage.
