V V. Exports Universal Pvt. Ltd. has announced Echoes of Bombay – One Stitch at a Time, an embroidered art exhibition designed by Kailash Poojary, Founder and CEO of the company. The exhibition will be showcased at 47-A, Khotachi Wadi from February 13 to March 15.
Developed over the course of a year, Echoes of Bombay is a body of hand-embroidered works that explores the city’s architectural legacy, cultural memory, and evolving identity. Each artwork has been created through a slow and deliberate process that blends research, observation, and meticulous craftsmanship, positioning embroidery as both an artistic and archival medium.
The exhibition traces Bombay’s journey from its origins with Map of Old Mumbai—The Seven Islands, moving through landmarks associated with Old Bombay, including Kala Ghoda, Dhobi Ghat, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Rajabai Tower, Mumba Devi, Bhendi Bazaar, Flora Fountain, Regal Circle with the Gateway of India, CST, the BMC Building, and Ballard Pier. The final work, Skyline of Bombay—By the Artist, brings together the city’s most iconic structures in an imagined composition shaped by memory rather than geography.
Founded in 2004, V. V. Exports has evolved under Poojary’s leadership into a globally recognised embroidery atelier, known for its craftsmanship and long-standing collaborations across fashion and design. The exhibition is hosted at 47-A, a space dedicated to art, craft, and design, housed within a 19th-century Portuguese-style home located in one of Bombay’s original villages.
