Large-scale music concerts are often associated with massive crowds, high energy—and equally high waste. But Seagram’s 100 Pipers Travel Gear attempted to rewrite that narrative in Hyderabad this December, hosting a zero-waste live music experience that combined global electronic performances with on-ground sustainability practices.
The experience featured performances by international electronic act Above & Beyond and homegrown collective Indo Warehouse, drawing music lovers into a night that aimed to prove that environmental responsibility and entertainment can co-exist at scale.
At the heart of the event’s sustainability messaging was the “Tree for Change,” an installation created using upcycled waste. Positioned as a visual centerpiece, the structure served as both an artistic statement and a reminder of the event’s circular economy mission—turning discarded material into something meaningful and memorable.
Unlike traditional concerts where disposable items dominate the attendee experience, the Hyderabad event focused on reducing landfill impact through operational changes on the ground. Key among them was the elimination of single-use cups, a common contributor to event waste.
The concert also implemented 100% waste segregation at the source, ensuring that waste was sorted correctly from the point of disposal itself—an essential step for effective recycling and diversion.
With this initiative, Seagram’s 100 Pipers Travel Gear is positioning sustainability not as a post-event report metric, but as an experience-led commitment—integrated into the way live events are designed, executed, and remembered.
As the live entertainment industry continues to expand across India, the event signals a growing push toward eco-conscious formats, setting a new benchmark for how concerts can reduce their environmental footprint without compromising on scale or spectacle.
