Eurosport India and Badminton Association of India Sign Three-year Broadcast Deal for Yonex Sunrise India Open

Eurosport India has entered into a three-year broadcast partnership with the Badminton Association of India (BAI) for the prestigious Yonex Sunrise India Open, covering the 2026, 2027 and 2028 editions of the tournament. The agreement marks a shift from the earlier year-on-year arrangement to a long-term collaboration aimed at driving sustained growth, consistency and deeper fan engagement for one of India’s premier badminton events.

The partnership will begin with the 2026 edition of the Yonex Sunrise India Open, scheduled to be held from January 13 to 18 in New Delhi. Under the agreement, Eurosport India will provide comprehensive coverage of the tournament, bringing world-class badminton action to audiences across the country, including leading Indian shuttlers and top international players.

Commenting on the partnership, Arjun Nowhar, SVP & Managing Director, India & South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said, “This long-term partnership with the Badminton Association of India reflects our focus on building marquee sports properties through consistent, high-quality broadcast and storytelling. By committing to the Yonex Sunrise India Open over an extended period, we can move beyond event-led coverage and create sustained engagement for fans, athletes and partners alike. As a global media network, our strength lies in scale, reach and distribution that help place Indian sport more firmly on the international stage.”

Beyond live match coverage, the three-year association will enable Eurosport India and BAI to collaborate closely on promoting the India Open as well as broader BAI initiatives. The long-term nature of the deal is expected to provide a stable platform to develop athlete-led storytelling, elevate the tournament’s profile, and strengthen badminton’s presence across broadcast and digital platforms.

Commenting on the association, Sanjay Mishra, General Secretary, Badminton Association of India, said, “The Yonex-Sunrise India Open has grown steadily over the years, both in terms of competition and audience interest. Partnering with Eurosport allows us to take the tournament to a wider television audience and ensure fans across the country can follow the action closely. This collaboration reflects the growing appetite for badminton in India and our commitment to making the sport more accessible.”

The renewed emphasis on continuity comes at a crucial time for Indian badminton, with the country set to host the BWF World Championships in 2026. Together, these marquee events further strengthen India’s position on the global badminton calendar and highlight its emergence as a preferred host for world-class international competitions.

With this agreement, Eurosport India continues to deepen its commitment to Indian sport, reinforcing its role as a trusted broadcast partner for major national and international tournaments. For BAI, the long-term partnership offers enhanced visibility and strategic alignment with a global sports broadcaster as Indian badminton continues its upward trajectory on the world stage.
