Karmic Events India, a leading experiential design and event conceptualisation firm, has unveiled a first-of-its-kind Christmas installation at Delhi Airport, titled ‘Where Christmas Meets India’. Reimagining one of the world’s most celebrated festivals through an Indian cultural lens, the installation blends global festive aesthetics with India’s rich artistic heritage, transforming the airport into an immersive cultural destination for travellers.
Conceptualised and executed by Karmic Events India, the installation demonstrates how large-format public spaces can be redefined through storytelling, design, and innovation. The experience reflects a seamless fusion of tradition and modernity, presenting India to a global audience in a manner that is contemporary, creative, and deeply rooted in cultural expression.
Designed to surprise, delight, and inspire, the festive installation elevates the travel experience at Delhi Airport, offering moments of visual wonder and cultural connection for both domestic and international passengers during the holiday season.
At the centre of the celebration stands India’s first-ever LED Art Christmas Tree, a landmark installation crafted entirely using LED technology. The tree features a dynamic visual narrative inspired by traditional Indian art forms such as Warli, Phulkari, Kalamkari, and Ikat. These classical styles are reinterpreted through contemporary animation, motion graphics, and light effects, creating a futuristic expression of India’s artistic legacy on an international stage. Through this installation, Karmic Events India highlights technology as a powerful medium to honour Indian craftsmanship, creativity, and storytelling.
Complementing the LED Art Tree is a luxury Christmas tree inspired by the refined festive aesthetics seen at leading global airports. Elegant and visually striking, the installation introduces a premium festive ambience within the terminal. Infused with an unmistakably Indian identity, the ornaments are handcrafted using Zardozi embroidery—one of India’s most intricate and luxurious textile techniques—bringing traditional craftsmanship into a globally familiar festive setting.
Adding an interactive dimension to the experience is the “Elevator to the North Pole,” an immersive installation designed to spark imagination and wonder. Enclosed within an oversized gift box, the experience begins as visitors step inside and press a button to commence their journey. As the elevator ascends, immersive visuals create the sensation of travelling across landscapes and skies, transporting guests from the city to the magical world of the North Pole. The installation has emerged as a key attraction for families and children, adding a sense of playfulness and memory-making to festive travel.
