EBG Group, a fast-growing Indian conglomerate, has announced the launch of the Tollywood Pro League (TPL), a premium cricket and entertainment league created exclusively for the Telugu film fraternity. The league was formally unveiled at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) by veteran film producer Dil Raju, who will also serve as the Honorary Chairman of the Tollywood Pro League.
Bringing together cinema and cricket on a single platform, TPL has been conceived as a structured, professionally governed league that blends competitive sport with entertainment and community engagement. The inauguration was graced by legendary Indian cricketers Kapil Dev, Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina, who attended as chief guests and extended their support to the initiative.
The launch event also saw the presence of several prominent film personalities, including Dino Morea, Ashish Vidyarthi, Murali Sharma, Sonu Sood, Anil Ravipudi, Rashi Khanna and S Thaman.
Planned as a six-team, franchise-based league with two seasons annually, Tollywood Pro League will feature celebrities as players and leading producers as team owners. Beyond on-field action, the league will incorporate fan zones, music-led experiences, community initiatives and high-quality digital content, positioning TPL as a marquee sports-entertainment property with strong national visibility. A portion of the league’s proceeds will be directed towards welfare initiatives for the Telugu film fraternity, reinforcing its social commitment.
