Inside Influencers Aashna & Aditya’s Two-States Destination Wedding Crafted by Ferris Wheel Diaries

When influencer couple Aashna Hegde and Aditya Kumar began planning their wedding in March, their vision was still evolving—an assortment of ideas and emotions yet to find structure. What was clear from the outset, however, was their desire for an intimate destination wedding that felt deeply personal, unhurried, and reflective of who they are as a couple.

Entrusted with bringing this vision to life, Ferris Wheel Diaries approached the celebration as a carefully layered journey—one that balanced emotion, culture, and design while allowing every moment to unfold naturally.

Finding the Right Canvas

The planning process began nearly nine months prior to the wedding with an extensive venue search across Delhi NCR and Uttarakhand. The journey culminated at Namah Resort, Jim Corbett, a property that aligned seamlessly with the couple’s brief. Set amidst nature, the resort offered intimacy, elegance, and a strong connection to its surroundings—making it an ideal canvas for the celebrations.

Aashna and Aditya were clear that they wanted a relaxed wedding experience—one where guests could truly be present rather than rushed between events. This led Ferris Wheel Diaries to design a three-day celebration, allowing each function its own space and rhythm.

With the overall flow and timelines in place, DB Spaces was onboarded as the décor partner to shape the visual narrative of the wedding.

Another core element guiding the planning was the couple’s cultural backgrounds—Aashna, a South Indian from Bombay, and Aditya, a North Indian Punjabi from Delhi. The celebrations were thoughtfully structured to honour both traditions authentically.

Day 1: Contemporary Cocktail Evening

The wedding festivities commenced with a cocktail evening designed as a relaxed and social opening event. The intent was to create an atmosphere where guests could unwind, connect, and ease into the celebrations.

The décor featured a distinctive deep purple and green colour palette, chosen to complement Corbett’s natural landscape. Lush foliage introduced a wilderness-inspired aesthetic, while the purple tones added a refined, regal contrast—striking a balance between elegance and the forested setting. The evening concluded with an after-party, keeping the energy light and celebratory.

Day 2: Playful Mehendi & Haldi

Following the high-energy first evening, Day 2 was designed as a slower, daytime celebration dedicated entirely to the Mehendi and Haldi. The focus was on warmth, playfulness, and ease—intentionally keeping the day relaxed ahead of the more structured wedding ceremonies on Day 3.

Moving away from conventional Haldi-Mehendi palettes, the couple opted for reds, sunflowers, marigolds, and warm rusty tones, lending the setup a subtle traditional feel while maintaining freshness.

The chosen venue for the day featured a layered, maze-like layout, creating intimate pockets and vibrant corners. This design encouraged movement, interaction, and a sense of discovery—perfectly matching the couple’s vision of a fun, casual celebration filled with games and laughter.

Day 3: A ‘2 States’ Wedding

The final day was dedicated to the wedding ceremonies, planned as a true ‘2 States’ celebration, with two distinct rituals unfolding across the day.

The morning featured the South Indian ceremony, designed to be classic, minimal, and rooted in tradition. The décor incorporated banana leaves, gajras, rajnigandhas, coconuts, ivory tones, greens, and subtle gold accents—creating an intimate and timeless setting.

The evening transitioned into the North Indian ceremony, carefully timed to work around Corbett’s early winter sunset. After extensive discussions, the colour palette was finalised as powder blue with ivory accents—an unconventional yet understated choice that blended beautifully with the natural surroundings.

The mandap design underwent multiple iterations before arriving at a final structure that felt architectural, distinctive, and deeply personal to the couple. Despite the logistical challenges of hosting two ceremonies in a single day, the celebrations unfolded seamlessly.

A Wedding Rooted in Intention

Executing two ceremonies in a single day—each with its own cultural, aesthetic, and emotional weight—was a logistical and creative challenge. From managing timelines to chasing golden hour and adapting to the forest’s early dusk, the planning and décor teams worked in close coordination to ensure each moment unfolded seamlessly.

The result was a wedding that felt cohesive yet layered, intimate yet visually striking—a reflection of thoughtful planning and design rooted in intention rather than excess.

For Ferris Wheel Diaries, the project exemplified what meaningful wedding décor looks like today: design that responds to people, place, and emotion. A celebration where aesthetics serve the story, and every detail feels considered.

In bringing Aashna and Aditya’s vision to life, Ferris Wheel Diaries helped craft not just décor, but an experience—one that honoured culture, connection, and the quiet beauty of doing things with purpose.
