Tamana, a pioneering non-profit organisation working to empower individuals with intellectual, developmental, and autism-related disabilities, has announced the return of the Tamana Winter Carnival 2025. The much-awaited annual celebration will be held on Saturday, 13 December, at the British High Commissioner’s Residence, New Delhi, and will remain open to visitors from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The event continues its legacy of blending festive cheer with Tamana’s long-standing mission of promoting inclusion and community support for the neurodiverse.
This year’s carnival promises a vibrant day of shopping, performances, and festive experiences. More than 100 homegrown brands will participate, showcasing apparel, jewellery, home décor, gifting items, and creations by NGOs and small entrepreneurs. Popular products made by Tamana’s students—including Christmas cakes, handmade jewellery, and artisanal pickles—will also be available. Having been hosted at the prestigious venue for nearly two decades, the Winter Carnival has become a significant date in Delhi’s social calendar, celebrated for its warm environment and its encouragement of creativity and entrepreneurship.
Founded in 1984 by Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Shayama Chona, Tamana has been at the forefront of holistic education and vocational empowerment for individuals with disabilities. The 2025 edition of the carnival will be inaugurated at 11:00 AM by Her Excellency Lindy Cameron, British Commissioner to India, in the presence of Chief Guest Rachana Golchha, President of the Police Family Welfare Society; Shayama Chona, President, Tamana; Harsh Mahajan, Chairperson, Tamana; Special Guest Ashish Saraf, Vice President and Country Head, Pratt & Whitney India; along with Tamana board members and long-term supporters. The inauguration will feature cultural performances by Tamana students, a festive Christmas parade, and live carol singing.
Dr. Chona expressed her gratitude and the lasting impact of the event, saying, “The Tamana Winter Carnival, held at the British High Commissioner’s residence for nearly two decades, has become a cherished celebration for thousands of Delhiites. It brings together entrepreneurs and NGOs who champion inclusion for the neurodiverse. We are grateful to the British High Commission for their consistent support.”
The 2025 carnival is supported by REC and Unicommerce, whose continued partnership reinforces Tamana’s mission to nurture independence and opportunities for the differently-abled.
Visitors will also have access to a buzzing food court featuring popular names such as Aku’s Burger, Bengali Sweet House, Kylin, Poppy’s Tea House, Nature’s Soul, Cohoma Coffee, and Brown Sugar. A dedicated children’s corner with engaging activities and entertainment will ensure a family-friendly experience throughout the day.
Tamana invites people from across the city to join this heartwarming celebration of inclusion, community, and festive joy, and to contribute to building a more compassionate and equitable society for individuals with disabilities.
