India’s linguistic and cultural diversity took centre stage once again as Spotify’s flagship hip-hop initiative, RAP91, returned for its fourth and biggest edition in 2025. Rooted in the belief that India speaks in a thousand voices, RAP91 continues to spotlight the nation’s multilingual rap culture—celebrating sounds from Hindi to Tamil, Bengali to Punjabi, Kannada to Malayalam, Telugu to Marathi, Bhojpuri to Haryanvi and beyond.
This year, RAP91 Live 2025 drew an electric crowd of over 4,000 fans, with 36 artists delivering high-energy performances across 8+ Indian languages. From Delhi and Mumbai to Imphal, Kochi, and Moga, the event showcased the full spectrum of India’s evolving hip-hop landscape, capturing the depth, regional pride, and cultural nuance that define the movement today.
Beyond the music, RAP91 2025 became a celebration of community, identity, and creative collaboration. Spotify partnered with Rolling Stone India for a special editorial and cover shoot featuring all RAP91 Live artists—an iconic moment that visually chronicles the energy, diversity, and cultural force shaping Indian hip-hop.
For Spotify, RAP91 remains a cornerstone initiative that provides a platform for emerging and established artists, connects fans nationwide, and offers global audiences a window into India’s genre-bending, language-spanning music scene. The growth of the platform has also been mirrored by the ascent of artists from Def Jam Recordings India, RAP91’s largest label partner, who have been integral to the movement’s momentum.
With standout performances including Seedhe Maut and Param, RAP91 2025 once again reaffirmed its status as the most important and impactful hip-hop event on India’s annual music calendar—one that continues to push culture forward and amplify voices from every corner of the country.
