Bayer Launches “Nativo – Make Them Shine” to Empower Rural Children and Strengthen Farming Communities

Bayer, the global enterprise known for its leadership in agriculture and healthcare, has announced the launch of “Nativo – Make Them Shine,” a new social impact initiative aimed at expanding learning opportunities for children in India’s farming communities.

Positioned on the belief that “every child, no matter where they are born, deserves the chance to discover their potential,” the initiative introduces immersive and experiential learning models designed to build confidence, curiosity and essential life skills among rural youth.

For over 15 years, Bayer’s flagship fungicide brand Nativo has been trusted by growers across India for its reliable crop protection — helping deliver what the brand calls “Grain Shining.” With this initiative, Nativo extends its mission “from enabling shining harvests to inspiring shining futures,” reflecting its ongoing respect for farmers and its commitment to the wellbeing of farming communities. A portion of every Nativo pack sold will go toward supporting a child’s education and fostering self-reliance.

As digital innovation accelerates change across sectors, Bayer highlights the importance of equipping rural youth for the future. India’s young learners, the company notes, are “talented, eager to learn and brimming with potential, yet many lack access to diverse learning experiences.” Make Them Shine aims to bridge this divide by offering exposure that strengthens academic confidence while unlocking creativity, critical thinking and leadership.

The initiative is being executed at Protovillage in collaboration with the Integreater Foundation, an organisation committed to building resilient and self-sustaining rural communities through purpose-driven learning. The first batch of 100 children will participate in a two-week structured immersive program designed to develop both skill and character.

The curriculum begins with practices that build emotional balance, self-awareness and empathy through connection exercises and yoga. It then transitions into hands-on STEM learning rooted in real community contexts such as agriculture, ecology and entrepreneurship. Leadership and confidence-building are integrated through sports, including skateboarding, to nurture grit, creativity and self-expression.

Outstanding participants will be recognised at the upcoming Protovillage Annual Festival, celebrating their achievements before the community.

With a strong presence in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, Nativo has established long-standing relationships with rice growers. Make Them Shine further enhances this connection by giving farmers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to their community — with each purchase directly supporting a child’s learning journey.
