DATSI School and TILTEDU Sign GameCraft Pro MoU at IGDC 2025, Strengthening Kerala’s Game-Design and Creative-Tech Ecosystem

In a significant move to advance Kerala’s AVGC and interactive entertainment industry, DATSI School and TILTEDU formally signed the GameCraft Pro Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the India Game Developers Conference (IGDC) 2025.

The MoU was signed in the presence of senior government officials Seeram Sambasiva Rao (IT Special Secretary) and Anoop Ambika (CEO, Kerala Startup Mission), alongside prominent industry leaders Ashish Kulkarni, Nikhil Chandran, Veerendra Patil, Veerendra Patil, Venkataramanan K, and Michael Joseph.

This collaboration represents one of Kerala’s strongest initiatives to position the state as a leading creative-technology hub where game design, storytelling, and innovation converge.

A Professionally Designed Program for Game Development

The GameCraft Pro program has been developed jointly by industry practitioners, game studios, and education experts. Unlike conventional courses that emphasise software training alone, the curriculum embeds learners directly within functioning creative studios, offering a production-driven learning experience.

Key learning components include:

  • Game mechanics and systems design
  • Narrative design and storytelling
  • Game programming and prototyping
  • 2D/3D asset creation with production workflows
  • Level design using professional game engines

In the final three months, every student develops a complete, original game IP—including documentation, gameplay systems, audio, FX and publisher-ready pitch materials—ensuring industry-aligned outcomes.

Filling a Critical Talent Gap in India’s Growing Gaming Market

With India’s gaming industry projected to reach USD 4–4.5 billion by 2025, talent demand continues to escalate. However, most skilled professionals remain concentrated in metros such as Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad.

Kerala, despite its design-driven youth demographic and strong education framework, has historically lacked structured industry integration, storytelling-focused game design education, and exposure to full publishing pipelines.

GameCraft Pro is positioned to directly address these gaps.

“This is not merely a course launch—it is a developmental movement. Our aim is to help Kerala generate original stories and IPs for the global gaming industry,” said Veerendra Patil, CEO, Zebu Animation & Founder, DATSI.

Industry leaders reinforced this vision:

  • Ashish Kulkarni, Chair, FICCI AVGC Forum: “Kerala has exceptional talent. GameCraft Pro strengthens the bridge between ideas and market-ready IP.”
  • Nikhil Chandran, CEO, TILTLABS & TILTEDU: “Our objective is to nurture creators and entrepreneurs who will define India’s gaming economy.”

Supported by Kerala’s AVGC Policy and Government Ecosystem

The initiative aligns closely with Kerala’s revised AVGC Policy, which aims to build robust talent pipelines, boost industry readiness and encourage original IP from the state.

“This partnership supports Kerala’s long-term vision to build a steady flow of skilled talent and create high-quality digital content from the region,” said Seeram Sambasiva Rao, IT Special Secretary.

GameCraft Pro is based at KINFRA Film & Video Park, with support from ASAP Kerala, making it a strategically aligned program under the state’s creative-tech framework.

Graduate Capabilities and Career Pathways

According to the official program brochure, students will graduate with the ability to:

  • Design and analyse games as rule-based systems
  • Build playable levels using professional engine workflows
