Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced that Tushar Shah, Chief Marketing Officer and Business Head for Movies, Regional, Free-to-Air, and Infotainment, will be stepping down from the organisation. His last working day will be March 31, 2026, and he will continue to support the network through the transition period.
Tushar’s association with Sony spans over 19 years, including an earlier stint from 2002 to 2005. Over the course of his long service, he has helmed several of the network’s key channels such as Sony MAX, Sony MARATHI, Sony AATH, and Sony BBC Earth.
Among his notable accomplishments is the turnaround of Sony AATH, which has remained profitable for more than a decade under his leadership. He also spearheaded the comprehensive rebranding of SPNI’s channel portfolio — the first major refresh since the network’s inception — introducing a renewed visual identity and clearer brand architecture.
Gaurav Banerjee, CEO of SPNI, commended Shah for his “clarity of thought and consumer-first approach,” emphasising his contribution to some of the company’s major brand and business milestones.
Reflecting on his upcoming departure, Shah described his journey at Sony as a “defining part” of his professional life and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with “exceptional teams across the network.”
SPNI has stated that details regarding his successor will be announced in due course.
