Hockey India Unveils “Big. Is. Back.” Campaign Ahead of Hero Hockey India League 2025/26

Hockey India has launched the official campaign for the upcoming Hero Hockey India League (HIL) season, introducing a bold new brand identity centred around the tagline “Big. Is. Back.” Designed with a cinematic and high-energy aesthetic, the promo signals the league’s ambition to return with expanded scale, stronger storytelling, and enhanced fan experiences.

The campaign captures the raw athleticism, emotion, and cultural significance of hockey in India, blending powerful visuals with a refreshed communication strategy that spans multiple platforms. High-impact animated films, large-format outdoor installations, radio integrations, and collaborations across TV and OTT platforms form part of a comprehensive 360-degree marketing plan.

The 2024 comeback season marked a remarkable resurgence for HIL, backed by broadcast partners Prasar Bharati and Sony Sports Network. The league reached 40.8 million viewers, recording a 48% growth over the 2017 season. The men’s final alone drew 3.07 million viewers, while the most-watched women’s match garnered 2.92 million. Internationally, HIL extended its reach to over 5 million viewers across 18 countries, and the league crossed 1 billion social media views across more than 3,000 content pieces.

This season’s digital strategy places a strong emphasis on reel-first storytelling, daily content drops, behind-the-scenes features, player profiles, and influencer-led engagement to keep fans immersed throughout the tournament.

Speaking on the campaign launch, Dr. Dilip Tirkey, Chairperson, Hero Hockey India League Governing Committee, said, “With the launch of the promo today, the countdown for the new season has officially begun, and it will be bigger than ever. HIL has played a crucial role in the growth of Indian hockey. With this strong marketing push, we aim to take hockey to more people and inspire the next generation.”

Governing Committee Member Shri Bhola Nath Singh added, “Our aim is to ensure HIL’s return is big, exciting, and easy for fans to connect with. This campaign brings fresh energy and promises an experience supporters will genuinely enjoy.”

The 2025/26 edition will focus on scale, innovation, and deepening emotional connection with fans, as the league continues its mission to spotlight hockey at the heart of India’s sporting culture.

The Women’s League will be hosted in Ranchi from 28 December 2025 to 10 January 2026, while the Men’s League will take place from 3 to 26 January 2026 across Chennai, Ranchi, and Bhubaneswar.
