The fourth edition of the Granules Green Heartfulness Run and Plantation Week witnessed an unprecedented turnout this morning, with over 100,000 participants joining from 119 Heartfulness Centres across India and select international locations. The nationwide initiative, supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and Fit India, continues to champion community wellness and environmental stewardship.
At Kanha Shanti Vanam, the global headquarters of Heartfulness and home to the world’s largest meditation centre, more than 5,000 participants gathered for the event. The run featured multiple categories, drawing corporate teams, students, fitness groups, and families.
The 21 km Timed Run saw its highest-ever participation with 320 runners, followed by 1,000 runners in the 10 km Timed Run. The 5 km Timed Run attracted 1,500 runners, while the 1.5 km Non-Timed Family Run drew 2,180 participants, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for fitness and family engagement.

The flag-off ceremony was graced by eminent personalities, including Shri Syed Kirmani, former India wicketkeeper and 1983 World Cup winner; Shri Pullela Gopichand, Chief National Coach for Indian Badminton; Mrs. Uma Chigurupati, Executive Director, Granules India Ltd.; Shri Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS, Additional DGP (Law & Order); filmmaker Shri Dil Raju; actor Ms. Mehreen Pirzada; Smt. Pratima Patel, wife of Revered Daaji; Mr. Sanjay Sehgal, Trustee & Director, Heartfulness Institute; Mrs. Rachna Mehta, GHR Event Director; and Mr. Anant Sanjeev Doogar, Race Director.
Calling the growing participation a testament to increasing public awareness, Shri Mahesh M. Bhagwat noted, “This edition is bigger than ever, underscoring how strongly people feel about planting and preserving trees. This marathon unites fitness and environmental action.”
Uma Chigurupati added, “The run has become a movement, inspiring fitness enthusiasts and ecological advocates alike. Each year, more people—especially children—are embracing the responsibility of protecting our green cover.”
Reflecting on the event’s expanding impact, Sanjay Sehgal shared, “Our goal this year is to raise funds to rejuvenate an iconic park in the Hyderabad Metro area. With over 88,000 runners and 20,000 trees planted across the first three editions, the initiative continues to accelerate under Daaji’s guidance. Together, we are driving meaningful change.”
The event was supported by leading partners including Medicover (Medical Partner), IQ301 (Timing Partner), Decathlon (Sports Partner), Re-Active (T-shirt Partner), Morph E-Mobility (E-Mobility Partner), The Nile Mile (Marathon Partner), and Forest by Heartfulness (Forestation Partner). Community partners included Community and 365 Run Club.
Organizations such as Evernorth Health Services, Oak Tree Capital, Granules India, Symbiosis College, and the CRPF also joined the mission, reinforcing their commitment to holistic well-being and environmental responsibility.
