Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced a dynamic new partnership with Crunchyroll, naming the global anime platform as the Associate Team Sponsor for the Proteas Men during their upcoming India tour from 14 November to 19 December.
Under this collaboration, Crunchyroll’s branding will appear on the Proteas Men’s jerseys across all three formats — Tests, ODIs, and T20Is — marking a major milestone in the streaming giant’s growing presence in global sports. The alliance brings together two powerful fandom-driven worlds: the emotional energy of anime and the passion of international cricket.
CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki welcomed the partnership, calling it a celebration of shared values. “With anime becoming one of the world’s most dominant entertainment forces, soon to have over a billion viewers, we see this partnership as a powerful way to connect with global audiences,” he said.
Crunchyroll’s Senior Vice President, Growth & Planning, Kartik Gandhi, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the synergy between the two communities. “Cricket and anime both capture the intensity of competition and the joy of shared fandom. This partnership strengthens our focus on bringing together the worlds of sports and anime across two dynamic markets: India and South Africa.”
The collaboration positions the Proteas Men on a major global stage while amplifying Crunchyroll’s expanding commitment to the world of sports entertainment.
