Google Elevates Aditya Swamy to Managing Director, Google Play for Asia-Pacific

Google has elevated Aditya Swamy to the position of Managing Director for Google Play, overseeing operations across India, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

In his expanded role, Swamy will lead strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening Google Play’s ecosystem, supporting app developers, and driving digital growth across diverse markets. He will continue to build partnerships with startups, developers, and investors to accelerate innovation within the app economy.

Swamy joined Google in 2017 as Industry Head – Large Customer Sales, before moving to leadership positions within Google Play. Prior to joining Google, he held senior roles at Flipkart and Viacom18 Media, where he was instrumental in driving marketing, consumer engagement, and growth initiatives. Earlier in his career, he spent over eight years with The Coca-Cola Company, gaining extensive experience in brand and sales management.

An alumnus of the SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Swamy brings over two decades of cross-industry experience in consumer brands, digital platforms, and media.

His appointment underscores Google’s commitment to enhancing its presence and leadership in the fast-evolving app ecosystem across the Asia-Pacific region, one of the largest and most dynamic digital markets globally.
